Songs To Stories By Britt Wolfe

Ever listened to a song and thought, Wow, I need a 10,000-word emotional spiral about this? No? Just me? Cool.

Songs To Stories is my deeply unasked-for yet spiritually necessary response to songs that refuse to leave me alone. It’s what happens when lyrics hit a little too hard and I decide to make that my personality for the next 60 pages. Think of it as fanfiction—but for the soundtrack of your worst (or best?) emotional decisions.

Each story in this collection starts with a song—the vibe, the ache, the what if—and unravels it into something lived-in, messy, tender, and a little too personal. If you’ve ever screamed the bridge of a Taylor Swift song in your car and thought, There’s a novel in there somewhere, congratulations. You’re in the right place. And if you haven’t… well, these stories might finally push you over the edge. You’re welcome.

To help you navigate your inevitable spiral, the series is now split into two collections:

💔 Ballads and Bruises — stories for when your chest aches and you want to feel everything. These are the poetic ones. The ones about grief, memory, heartbreak, and people trying to stitch themselves back together using nothing but hope and half a chorus. Think misty roads, unsent letters, and standing in the kitchen wondering if you made the right choice.

🔥 Hooks and Heat — stories for when you need a happy ending and aren’t opposed to getting a little sweaty along the way. These are the sexy ones. The ones where the attraction is mutual, the tension is tight, and the feelings come with benefits. Think skin-on-skin confessions, too much eye contact, and dialogue that should probably come with a warning label.

You can read them in any order. You can scream into a pillow between them. Just promise me you’ll listen to the song first.

Or after.

Or both.

Honestly, spiral responsibly.

Hooks and Heat: A Songs to Stories Collection

So, you listened to Dress or Cruel Summer or So High School and thought,
Wow, I’d really love a novella where two hot people make terrible decisions with excellent sexual tension and then maybe fall in love and cry a little.
Same.

Hooks and Heat is where the temperature rises and the clothes don’t stay on. These stories are what happen when a song gives me butterflies and then full-body chills and then suddenly I’m writing 12,000 words about people making out against walls. There’s still emotional damage—don’t worry—but it’s the kind you work through by kissing really hard and possibly in public.

This is the part of Songs To Stories where the characters aren’t just yearning—they’re doing something about it. Usually with their mouths. And sometimes with handcuffs. There are declarations. There are power dynamics. There are scenes that will absolutely make you blush in a coffee shop if you read them in public (which I highly recommend—live your truth).

These stories are unapologetically horny, wildly romantic, and occasionally unhinged in the best possible way. You’ll still get emotional depth and poetic one-liners that might make you pause and text your therapist, but now with extra orgasms.

So if you’ve ever heard a lyric and thought, God, I want to be pinned against a wall by that feeling, welcome. You belong here.

Now take a deep breath.

And maybe unbutton something.
