Songs To Stories By Britt Wolfe

Ever listened to a Taylor Swift song and thought, Wow, I need a 20,000-word emotional spiral about this? No? Just me? Cool.

Welcome to Songs to Stories — my wildly unrequested but deeply necessary response to the songs that won’t let me go. These aren’t retellings of Taylor Swift songs or interpretations of what she meant when she wrote them. They’re the stories that appeared in my head while I was listening: a feeling became a character, a lyric sparked a what-if, and somehow a three-minute song haunted me into writing a 20,000-to-40,000-word novella. Really, with writing that vivid, I maintain this is at least partially her fault.

You absolutely do not need to be a Swiftie to read these stories. They stand entirely on their own, although fellow Swifties may find a few Easter eggs tucked away just for them. Listen to the songs before, after, during, or not at all. They may have planted the seeds, but the stories that grew from them went somewhere entirely their own.

Honestly? Spiral responsibly.
