The World Through Your Eyes

The World Through Your Eyes Poem By Britt Wolfe Author

One eye of sky, endless and wide,
One of earth, rich and deep with pride.
Blue for the dreams that dance in the air,
Brown for the stories that linger with care.

Oh, Sophie—
how you see the world must be magic.

You see wonder in the wind,
a story in every scent.
The rustle of leaves is a song for you,
the path ahead—an invitation, always new.

A stick? A treasure.
A puddle? Pure delight.
The sun? A spotlight just for you,
catching silver fur in dawn’s first light.

The world, through your eyes,
is a place to run—
to leap, to pause,
to soak in the sun.
No rush to arrive,
no need for the why—
just grass underfoot
and endless sky.

Do you see the way I watch you?
How you remind me of simple things—
that joy is found in the breeze,
in the steady beat of shared footsteps,
in the quiet between heartbeats?

You do not ask the stars for answers.
You run beneath them,
knowing the moonlight is gift enough.
You trust the road we walk—
and I trust you to lead me
toward the parts of life I forgot to see.

The blue eye says: Look up.
The world is vast, and you are meant to roam.
The brown eye says: Stay grounded.
Love is here. This is home.

I wonder, do you see me
with the same certainty you see the dawn?
Do you know you are the best part of my world?
I hope you do.

Because when I look at you—
with one eye of sky, one eye of earth—
I see everything good.
Adventure. Loyalty. Joy.
And the purest kind of love.

The world through your eyes
is a place I never knew I needed.
But you, Sophie,
show me every day—
it was always meant for us.

Britt Wolfe writes emotionally devastating fiction with the precision of a heart surgeon and the recklessness of someone who definitely shouldn’t be trusted with sharp objects. Her stories explore love, loss, and the complicated mess of being human. If you enjoy books that punch you in the feelings and then politely offer you a Band-Aid, you’re in the right place.
