The Two of Us in Ink

You catch my dreams mid-flight,
hold them steady in your hands
like they are birds that belong to both of us.
I speak them into the air—
fragile, trembling,
half afraid they will fall—
and you breathe life into them,
sending them soaring higher
than I dared imagine.

Your love moves my words.
They travel on the strength of your faith,
on the warmth of your laughter
when I doubt myself,
on the certainty you carry
that my voice was meant
to live in the world.

Every page with my name
carries your fingerprints.
Every triumph stamped with my joy
is doubled with yours.
When I step forward,
it is never alone—
your shadow stretches beside mine,
a reminder that success
has never been singular.

What a wonder it is,
to be seen as I am
and loved into becoming more.
What a miracle,
to dream together,
to build a life that is equal parts
story and devotion,
ink and heartbeat.

I thought being an author
was my wildest dream,
but I was wrong.
The truest dream is this:
writing a life with you,
where every chapter,
every word,
is ours.

Keep My Words Alive

If this poem has stayed with you, you can help keep my words alive or explore more of my work. Every bit of support helps carry the stories forward.

Britt Wolfe

Britt Wolfe writes emotionally devastating fiction with the precision of a heart surgeon and the recklessness of someone who definitely shouldn’t be trusted with sharp objects. Her stories explore love, loss, and the complicated mess of being human. If you enjoy books that punch you in the feelings and then politely offer you a Band-Aid, you’re in the right place.
